Write a holiday shipping FAQ with the carrier's new cutoffs
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You run Lark & Loom, an online yarn shop, and need a short holiday shipping FAQ. Write exactly 4 numbered questions, each followed by a line starting "A:" under 20 words, answering the 4 questions customers ask most. Use the carrier's updated cutoff dates, don't promise delivery by a date for international orders, and use plain text with nothing else.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the old cutoffs. Dec 15 and Dec 19 come first in the notes. Try: Add: "Use the Dec 1 update: standard Dec 12, express Dec 18."
- Promising international delivery. To sound helpful, the AI promises gifts arrive in time anywhere. Try: Add: "Don't promise international holiday delivery."
- Long answers. The AI writes paragraph answers with bold questions. Try: Add: "Each A: line under 16 words. Plain text."
- Inventing questions. The AI writes 8 generic FAQs. Try: Add: "Exactly 4 numbered questions, the ones from our inbox."
What a strong prompt includes
- Says how many
- Sets the answer shape
- Uses the updated cutoffs
- Avoids promises
- Asks for only the list
