Write a landing page FAQ that admits what isn't ready
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're the PM for Quillbook, a homework planner app for families, writing the FAQ section of the launch page. Write exactly 4 Q&A pairs as numbered questions, each followed by an answer line starting with "A:" that is under 25 words. Use only the spec, and if a question is about a feature that isn't ready, the answer must say it's not available yet. Plain text, nothing else.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Asking for "an FAQ". The AI writes 8 to 12 questions with bold headings and long answers. Try: Set the shape: "Exactly 4 numbered questions, each with an A: line under 15 words."
- Not handling missing features. The AI answers "Yes!" to sync and laptop questions because they sound like normal features. Try: Add: "If a feature isn't at launch, say it's not available yet."
- Letting it reassure with claims. To answer privacy questions, the AI adds certifications like COPPA. Try: Add: "Use only the spec. Never claim COPPA certification."
- Picking its own questions. The AI invents generic questions instead of the ones parents asked. Try: Add: "Use the 4 top survey questions."
What a strong prompt includes
