Describe volunteer roles with honest time commitments
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're listing open volunteer roles on Lakeview Literacy's website. Write exactly 3 numbered lines in the shape Role - time commitment - what you'll do, each under 20 words, using the corrected time commitments. Don't call any role "easy" or "just an hour", and reply with only the plain-text list.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Leaving out the training. The old flyer's "1 hour a week" comes first. Try: Add: "Reading Buddy: 1 hour a week plus a 3-hour training."
- Overselling. "Easy!" and "just an hour!" are the AI's default recruiting words. Try: Add: "Never say easy or just an hour."
- Listing a filled role. Grant Writer is in the notes, so the AI includes it. Try: Add: "Skip the Grant Writer; it's filled."
- No line shape. The AI writes a paragraph per role with bold titles. Try: Show it: "Role - time - what you'll do."
What a strong prompt includes
- Sets the line shape
- Includes the training
- Rules out overselling
- Skips the filled role
- Asks for only the list
