Turn four shipped features into customer benefits without new claims
- For Small business owners
- You practice Keeping the AI to your sources
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
You write the product page for Maple Route, a delivery-scheduling app for florists. Write a prompt for exactly 4 numbered lines in the form "1. Feature name: what it does for you", one per shipped feature, with each benefit starting with "You" and under 20 words. Cover only features marked shipped, and don't add any time savings, percentages or customer counts.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Adding the beta feature. The AI includes route optimization because it sounds valuable. Try: Add: "Cover only shipped features."
- Inventing savings. The AI makes up 'save 2 hours a day'. Try: Say: "No time savings, percentages or customer counts."
- Feature talk, no benefit. The AI restates the feature. Try: Say: "Each benefit starts with 'You'."
- Wrong number of items. AI adds extra items or drops the numbering. Try: Say the exact count and show the format, like "1. Label: detail".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and often runs past a word limit. Try: Cap each part (for example "each line under 15 words") so the total lands well under the limit.
What a strong prompt includes
- Gives the line format
- Limits to shipped features
- Starts benefits with You
- Bans numbers and claims
- Caps benefit length
