Turn campaign meeting notes into four committed tasks with dates
- For Marketing and content
- You practice Asking for a format you can use
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Monday's campaign meeting was Nov 9, 2026. Write a prompt that turns the notes into exactly 4 lines in the form "- [ ] Owner: task (due Mon DD)", sorted by due date with the earliest first. Include only tasks someone clearly committed to, and turn words like "Friday" into the real date. Plain text, no intro.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Including uncommitted ideas. The AI makes tasks out of TikTok and the podcast. Try: Say: "Only tasks someone clearly committed to."
- Keeping 'Friday' as written. The AI leaves relative days instead of dates. Try: Say: "Turn weekdays into the real date."
- Not sorted. The AI keeps the order of the notes. Try: Say: "Earliest due date first."
- Wrong date for Lee. The AI uses 'tomorrow' instead of the corrected Tuesday. Try: Say: "Use the final date when someone changes it."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and often runs past a word limit. Try: Cap each part (for example "each line under 15 words") so the total lands well under the limit.
What a strong prompt includes
- Gives the line format
- Turns weekdays into dates
- Limits to committed tasks
- Sorts earliest first
- Sets the count
