About this exercise
Your team is choosing a tagline for the Weekly Wrap planner app. Write a prompt for exactly two plain-text lines: "Pick:" with the letter of the best tagline, and "Why:" with one reason of 15 words or fewer. The best tagline names a benefit, is 6 words or fewer, and contains no jargon. Judge only against those criteria.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Following the CEO. The AI picks C because 'everyone knows it'. Try: Say: "Judge only against the three criteria."
- Long justification. The AI writes a paragraph. Try: Say: "Why: one reason, 15 words or fewer."
- Missing labels. The AI writes a table or essay. Try: Say: "Exactly two lines starting Pick: and Why:"
- Letting markdown through. AI adds bold text and headings by default. Try: Add: "Plain text only, no bold, no headings."
What a strong prompt includes
- Gives the two labels
- Lists the criteria
- Limits to criteria
- Caps the reason
- Asks for plain text
