About this exercise
Eight customers were interviewed and each mention of a benefit was tagged as positive or negative. Write a prompt for a markdown table with columns Angle | Positive | Negative covering the four angles in the tags, then a last line starting "Lead with:" that names the angle with the most positive mentions and its count out of 8 interviews. Count positives and negatives separately. Under 80 words, no other text.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Counting all mentions. The AI adds positives and negatives and favors support. Try: Add: "Count positives and negatives separately; lead with the most positive mentions."
- Miscounting. Tag sheets lead to off-by-one counts. Try: Ask the AI to list the interview numbers behind each count.
- Skipping the count in the last line. The AI names a winner with no number. Try: Say: "Give the count out of 8."
- Letting markdown through. AI adds bold text and headings by default. Try: Add: "Plain text only, no bold, no headings."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and often runs past a word limit. Try: Cap each part (for example "each line under 15 words") so the total lands well under the limit.
What a strong prompt includes
- Names the table columns
- Counts separately
- Gives the last-line label
- Asks for a count out of 8
- Caps length
