Build a signup funnel table and name the step with the biggest drop

About this exercise

You're reviewing the Cirrus signup funnel. Write a prompt for a markdown table with columns Step | Users | % of previous step (whole number) for all five steps, with the first step showing a dash. Then a line starting "Biggest drop:" naming the step with the lowest % of previous step and that percent, and a line starting "Overall:" showing last step divided by first step to one decimal. Under 80 words, no other text.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Using the biggest absolute loss. The AI points at the 13,000 lost before pricing. Try: Say: "Biggest drop = the lowest % of previous step."
  • Miscomputing the overall rate. The AI divides by the wrong step. Try: Say: "Overall = verified / visited, one decimal."
  • Missing dash or percent. The AI leaves the first row blank or shows decimals. Try: Say: "Dash for the first step; whole-number percents."
  • Letting markdown through. AI adds bold text and headings by default. Try: Add: "Plain text only, no bold, no headings."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and often runs past a word limit. Try: Cap each part (for example "each line under 15 words") so the total lands well under the limit.

What a strong prompt includes

  • Names the columns
  • Defines biggest drop
  • Gives overall formula
  • Asks for rounding
  • Caps length
