About this exercise
The policy paragraph below is accurate but nobody reads it. Write a prompt that rewrites it for warehouse floor staff: speak directly to the reader as "you", use short plain words, keep every number and deadline, and never use the word "shall". At most 6 sentences. Plain text. Add no new rules. The safety officer reviews the final wording.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Dropping a number. The AI shortens it and loses the 5 mph limit or Form PI-7. Try: Say: "Keep every number and form name."
- Adding new rules. The AI adds friendly safety advice that is not in the policy. Try: Say: "Add no new rules and no advice."
- Still formal. The AI keeps 'operators' and 'shall'. Try: Say: "Speak to the reader as 'you' and never use 'shall'."
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold, headings and bullets by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
