Catch up a cast member on a busy drama club chat
Practice: Saying who it's for. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're the stage manager for the school play, and your friend Nia, who plays the lead, missed a week of the cast chat. You want a text to her of at most 3 sentences, plain text, with her own deadline first. Use the rehearsal schedule's final change, and skip the jokes and the crew-only details. Write a prompt that gets you exactly that.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Not saying who it's for. The AI summarizes the chat for everyone, including crew details. Try: Add: "Write it to Nia, the lead. Only what affects her."
- Missing the final change. Tues/Thurs comes first; the change to Wednesday comes later. Try: Add: "Use the final rehearsal days: Tues and Weds."
- Burying her deadline. The AI goes in chat order. Try: Add: "First sentence: her off-book deadline."
- Asking for a summary. The AI writes bullets with headings. Try: Be exact: "At most 3 sentences, plain text, like a text."
What a strong prompt includes
