Text staff who missed the salon meeting what changed
Practice: Saying who it's for. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You own a hair salon, and two stylists missed this morning's staff meeting. You want a group text of at most 3 sentences, plain text, starting with the change that affects them soonest. Use the corrected start date for the new booking policy, and leave out the owner-only money talk from the meeting. Write a prompt that gets you exactly that.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Following the meeting order. The AI starts with the policy because it came first, not with the soonest deadline. Try: Add: "Start with the change that affects them soonest."
- Missing the date change. Dec 1 is in the notes, and the update came after the meeting. Try: Add: "Use the corrected Dec 8 start date."
- Leaking owner-only info. The AI includes the rent and price ideas because they were discussed. Try: Add: "Leave out the owner-only money talk."
- Asking for a summary. The AI writes a long bulleted recap with headings. Try: Be exact: "At most 3 sentences, plain text, like a text."
What a strong prompt includes

- Starts with the soonest
