Capture a supplier meeting's action items with the final price
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You own a small bakery and just met with your flour supplier's rep. You want exactly 4 numbered lines, each as Name - action - due date (month and day), under 50 words, plain text. Use the price the rep corrected before the meeting ended, and turn 'next Friday' into the real date. Write a prompt that gets you exactly that.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the first price. $34 is said first; the fix comes at the end. Try: Add: "The price is $33/bag (Carlos corrected it)."
- Keeping vague dates. The AI writes 'next Friday'. Try: Add: "The meeting was Tue Jan 13, so next Friday is Jan 23."
- Including chit-chat. The AI adds the oven repair or small talk. Try: Add: "Only actions from the supplier meeting."
- Letting the AI pick the layout. The AI writes a recap with headings. Try: Be exact: "Exactly 4 numbered lines, plain text."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for "under 50 words" and it often lands well over. Try: Cap each part instead: "each line under 8 words."
What a strong prompt includes
- Says how many lines
- Uses the corrected price
- Converts the date
- Gives the line format
- Sets a word limit
