Check an AI notetaker's summary against the transcript
- For Office and admin
- You practice Catching mistakes and made-up facts
- Time about 5 minutes
About this exercise
Your AI notetaker summarized the event-planning meeting, and you need to check it before it goes out. Write exactly 6 numbered lines, one per summary bullet, each labeled Confirmed, Wrong or Not in transcript; for Wrong add the correct fact in under 12 words. Then add a final unnumbered line starting "Missed:" naming the decision the summary left out. Plain text, under 140 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Rewriting instead of checking. Asked to review, the AI writes a new summary instead of checking each claim. Try: Add: "One line per summary bullet, labeled Confirmed, Wrong or Not in transcript."
- Accepting the invented owner. Nobody volunteered, but the AI accepts 'Marcus will book' because he spoke. Try: Add: "Mark an owner Not in transcript unless someone clearly agreed."
- No correction given. The AI flags the date as wrong but doesn't say what it should be. Try: Add: "For Wrong lines, give the correct fact."
- Missing what was left out. The AI only checks what's there, not what the summary skipped. Try: Add: "End with a 'Missed:' line naming any decision the summary left out."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting words, so a total word cap usually lands over. Try: Cap each part: "each line under 15 words."
