About this exercise

Write a script a recruiter reads aloud to open a 30-minute hiring debrief, in plain text, under 140 words, with four labeled parts: Welcome:, Ground rules:, Order of input:, Close:. Ground rules: has exactly three short sentences. Order of input: says evidence is shared by interviewer before anyone states a preference, and that the least senior person speaks first. Do not say who should be hired, and do not name the candidate's personal circumstances. Spoken style.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Repeating Wes's comment. The AI quotes 'I already know I want her'. Try: Say: "Use only the company rules; do not mention anyone's preference."
  • Personal details. The AI mentions Pooja's move. Try: Say: "Do not mention personal circumstances."
  • Wrong speaking order. The AI starts with the director. Try: Say: "Least senior person speaks first."
  • Rules count. The AI lists five ground rules. Try: Say: "Ground rules: exactly three short sentences."
  • Labels. The AI writes a narrative. Try: Say: "Four parts labeled Welcome:, Ground rules:, Order of input:, Close:."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
  • Markdown. The AI bolds words or adds headings. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
