About this exercise
Write a talk track for a recruiter's offer call in plain text, under 150 words, with four labeled parts: Open:, Offer:, Next steps:, If asked:. Offer: states only the approved terms. If asked: gives one line each for "Can you go higher?" and "Can I start later?" that do not promise anything. Spoken style. Do not mention other candidates. HR and Compensation review before use.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Promising flexibility. The AI says 'we may have room on salary'. Try: Say: "For 'Can you go higher?' say you will take it back to the team; promise nothing."
- Unapproved terms. The AI adds a signing bonus or remote work. Try: Say: "Offer states only the approved terms."
- Labels. The AI writes a narrative. Try: Say: "Four parts labeled Open:, Offer:, Next steps:, If asked:."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
- Markdown. The AI bolds words or adds headings. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
