Check which scholarships you qualify for from the rules
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You found 3 department scholarships and want to know which you can apply for. You want one numbered line per scholarship, under 45 words total, each starting Eligible, Not eligible, or Unclear, then the rule that decides it in parentheses. Use only the scholarship rules (including the posted correction) and your profile, plain text, nothing else.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Missing the correction. The original 3.3 GPA appears first, and the AI may use it. Try: Say: "Apply the Nov 3 correction."
- Assuming the hours count. The AI may decide 'a lot' of volunteering meets 40 documented hours. Try: Add: "If my profile doesn't prove a rule is met, label it Unclear."
- No line shape. The AI writes a paragraph per scholarship, which buries the yes or no. Try: Say: "Start each with Eligible, Not eligible, or Unclear."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands 10-20% over. Try: Cap each line: "each line under 12 words."
- Getting markdown back. AI defaults to bold labels and headings, which show up as stray symbols in your notes app. Try: Ask for "plain text, no bold, no headings."
