Pull three staffing report findings for your unit council
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
Your unit practice council meets Thursday, and you're sharing findings from the hospital's nurse staffing report. You want at most 3 bullets in plain text, each one finding about your unit (4 West) with its number, using the final figures where the report revised them. Use only the report, and don't add recommendations.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the uncorrected numbers. The corrections are listed after the table, and the AI often copies the first figures. Try: Say: "Use the v2 corrected figures where they exist."
- Mixing units. Hospital-wide and other unit numbers sit right next to yours, and the AI may blend them in. Try: Add: "4 West findings only."
- Adding recommendations. The AI sees the float pool note and starts suggesting actions for the council. Try: Say: "Only the bullets. No recommendations."
- Not capping the list. The AI lists everything it finds, so the few points that matter get buried. Try: Say: "at most 3 bullets."
- Getting markdown back. AI defaults to bold labels and headings, which show up as stray symbols in the council agenda. Try: Ask for "plain text, no bold, no headings."
