Sort competitor holiday promos into confirmed and unconfirmed
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
Before planning your holiday sale, you want a quick view of 3 competitors' promos. You want exactly 3 numbered lines, one per competitor, each with the offer and its source, and any offer that only comes from hearsay marked "(unconfirmed)". Use the newest source for each competitor and only facts in your notes, plain text, nothing else.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using last year's promo. Old offers sit next to new ones in your notes, and the AI may pick the bigger number. Try: Say: "Use the newest source for each competitor."
- Treating hearsay as fact. The AI reports the 40% rumor with the same confidence as a website banner. Try: Add: "Mark hearsay offers (unconfirmed)."
- Leaving out sources. Without a source, your team can't tell which numbers to trust. Try: Add: "Name the source on each line."
- Not saying how many. The AI decides the length itself and usually returns more lines, one per competitor than you can use. Try: Be exact: "exactly 3 numbered lines, one per competitor."
- Getting markdown back. AI defaults to bold labels and headings, which show up as stray symbols in your planning doc. Try: Ask for "plain text, no bold, no headings."
