Check giveaway ideas against the platform's promotion rules
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're planning an Instagram-style giveaway on the Clipline app and want to check 4 ideas against the platform's promotion rules. You want exactly 4 numbered lines, each starting Allowed, Not allowed, or Rules don't say, followed by the rule number in parentheses where one applies. Use only the rules text, plain text, nothing else.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the old rule. The 2025 note says sharing to stories was allowed, and the AI may go with it. Try: Say: "Use only the current Sept 2026 rules."
- Stretching a rule to fit. The AI reads P2 loosely and calls friend-tagging banned, which the rules don't actually say. Try: Add: "If no rule clearly covers it, write Rules don't say."
- Getting a rewritten campaign. The AI fixes your ideas and writes new copy instead of checking them. Try: Say: "Only label each idea, no rewrites."
- Not saying how many. The AI decides the length itself and usually returns more lines, one per idea than you can use. Try: Be exact: "exactly 4 numbered lines, one per idea."
- Getting markdown back. AI defaults to bold labels and headings, which show up as stray symbols in your campaign brief. Try: Ask for "plain text, no bold, no headings."
