- For Revenue operations
- You practice Getting the tone right
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Rewrite the curt message into a polite email to sales reps asking them to include three items when they submit a deal for approval. Use plain text under 90 words, subject line first, with exactly 3 dash bullets (the items), and state the turnaround from the notes. Keep the facts, drop the sarcasm and blame, and don't promise faster turnaround.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Keeping the sarcasm. The AI softens but keeps 'read the form'. Try: Add: "Drop sarcasm and blame; polite and neutral."
- Losing the facts. The AI omits the turnaround or the restart rule. Try: Add: "Keep the turnaround and the incomplete-submission rule."
- Wrong list. The AI lists extra items. Try: Add: "Exactly three dash bullets: quote ID, discount percent, term."
What a strong prompt includes
- Lists the three items
- Keeps the turnaround
- Keeps the incomplete rule
- Sets a polite tone
- Sets form and length
