Make a 5-question deal-review checklist from a stalled deal
- For Managers and team leads
- You practice Asking for a format you can use
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
You are a sales manager prepping a 20-minute deal review. Write a checklist of exactly 5 questions, each line starting with "- [ ]" and each question under 18 words. The questions must be about gaps in the deal notes (not generic), and the first question must be about the economic buyer. Do not suggest discounting or add any answer.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Generic coaching questions. The AI asks "What is the customer's pain?" with no link to the notes. Try: Add: "Each question must target a gap in the deal notes."
- Wrong count or format. The AI writes 8 numbered questions. Try: Say: "Exactly 5 lines starting with - [ ]."
- Wrong first question. The AI starts with timeline or pain. Try: Add: "The first question is about the economic buyer."
- Bold intro. The AI adds a bold title and tips. Try: Add: "Plain text, no intro."
What a strong prompt includes
- Uses the checkbox format
- Sets the count
- Targets gaps
- Orders the first one
- Bans discounts and answers
