Prep weighted pipeline by rep from a CRM export
- For Revenue operations
- You practice Keeping the AI to your sources
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
You're prepping Monday's pipeline review for Dana Whitfield, the VP of Sales. She wants a Slack message with one line per rep giving that rep's weighted open pipeline, with the math shown on the line (amount x probability, added up). Open pipeline means every stage except Closed Won and Closed Lost. Finish with one line that starts "Total weighted:". Plain text, under 120 words, no intro.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Not saying what counts as open. The AI adds closed deals into the pipeline because they're in the export. Try: Add: "Open means every stage except Closed Won and Closed Lost."
- Ignoring the RevOps notes. The AI often reads the table and skips the notes underneath, so it double counts the duplicate and uses the old amount. Try: Add: "Apply the RevOps notes: drop the duplicate row and use the corrected Vantor amount."
- Hiding the math. The AI gives a total per rep, so Dana can't check it in the meeting. Try: Add: "On each rep line show the math, like 40,000 x 50% + 60,000 x 75% = $65,000."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for "under 120 words" and it often lands well over. Try: Cap each part instead: "one line per rep, no other text."
- Getting a formatted report. The AI adds headings, bold names and a table, which show up as symbols in Slack. Try: Add: "Plain text for Slack. No bold, headings or tables."
