Build a Say / Don't say card for talking about a competitor
- For Sales and customer success
- You practice Asking for a format you can use
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Make a markdown table with columns Topic | Say | Don't say and exactly 3 rows: Price, Speed, Support. The Say cell uses only a fact from the notes (no adjectives about the competitor). The Don't say cell names one claim reps must avoid and is based on the notes' warnings. Every cell is under 14 words. Nothing outside the table.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the old price. The AI uses the 2025 $38. Try: Add: "Use the current notes only; 2025 is out of date."
- Adjectives about the competitor. The AI writes 'Kestrel is slow and expensive'. Try: Add: "Say cells use facts only, no adjectives."
- Generic Don't say. The AI says 'don't lie'. Try: Add: "Don't say names a specific claim from the warnings."
- Wrong shape and length. The AI adds extra rows and commentary. Try: Add: "Exactly 3 rows, each cell under 14 words, nothing outside."
What a strong prompt includes
- Names the columns
- Fixes the rows
- Facts only
- Uses the warnings
- Limits cell length
