Make a CSV of personal first lines for conference follow-ups
- For Sales and customer success
- You practice Asking for a format you can use
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Produce one fenced CSV block with the header email,first_line and exactly one row per lead. Each first_line is one sentence under 20 words that references what the lead said at the booth, with no quotation marks or commas inside it. Skip any lead marked do not contact. Outside the code block write at most 15 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Including do-not-contact leads. The AI drafts for everyone on the list. Try: Add: "Skip any lead marked do not contact."
- Commas breaking the CSV. First lines contain commas that split the columns. Try: Add: "No commas or quotation marks inside first_line."
- Invented pain for a casual browser. The AI assumes Raj has the same problem. Try: Add: "Do not assume pain for leads who stated none."
- Extra prose and multiple blocks. The AI adds explanations and extra blocks. Try: Add: "One code block and at most 15 words outside it."
What a strong prompt includes
- Names the CSV header
- One row per lead
- Skips do not contact
- Bans commas
