Pitch an agency by email without naming your NDA client
- For Freelancers and creators
- You practice Keeping the AI to your sources
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
You're a freelance email copywriter pitching Brightloom, a design agency that just posted about needing onboarding emails for a SaaS client. Write a cold email to their creative director, Ezra Kim, under 90 words. Use your Tidepool result (activation up from 22% to 31%). Your Verdant project is under NDA, so don't name Verdant or its numbers. End with exactly one question. Plain text, with line 1 as "Subject:" and a subject of at most 5 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Name-dropping the NDA client. The AI uses every result in your notes, including the one under NDA. Try: Add: "Don't name Verdant or share its numbers; it's under NDA."
- Listing everything. The AI lists all three projects and your rate instead of the one result that matters to Ezra. Try: Add: "Use only the Tidepool onboarding result."
- Several asks. AI emails often ask two or three questions, which makes replying harder. Try: Add: "End with exactly one question, and ask nothing else."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and runs long when you only give a total like 90 words. Try: Cap each part instead, like "3 short paragraphs, each under 25 words," so the total lands well under 90.
What a strong prompt includes
- Names the result to use
- Protects the NDA client
- Sets one question
- Sets a size
