- For Small business owners
- You practice Getting the tone right
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Write one text from Luis at Reyes Plumbing to Mrs. Alvarez about her open estimate. Plain text, under 35 words. Include the estimate number, the total, and the date it stays valid. End with "- Luis, Reyes Plumbing". Use no pressure words (like "limited time", "hurry", "last chance") and don't mention the supplier price change.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the old estimate. The AI quotes $2,450 from #1041. Try: Add: "Use estimate #1047 at $2,860."
- Pressure words. The AI mentions the Dec 1 price increase or says 'don't wait'. Try: Add: "No pressure words and don't mention the supplier price change."
- Missing sign-off. The AI signs off as 'Best, Luis' or adds a phone line. Try: Add: "End exactly with: - Luis, Reyes Plumbing"
- Too long for a text. The AI writes a paragraph. Try: Add: "Plain text, under 35 words."
What a strong prompt includes
- Gives the estimate details
- Bans pressure
- Ignores supplier change
- Sets sign-off
- Short text
