Script a five-question qualifying call with a label for each
- For Sales and customer success
- You practice Asking for a format you can use
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Write a qualifying call script as exactly 5 lines in the form "Label: question" using these labels in order: Situation, Problem, Impact, Decision, Timeline. Each question starts with What, How or Who, is under 14 words, and does not mention our product or price. Make the Decision question about who else is involved, and the Timeline question about what date matters. Plain text.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Yes/no questions. The AI starts with 'Do you' or 'Is'. Try: Add: "Start with What, How or Who."
- Mentioning the product. The AI asks about Orderly. Try: Add: "No product name or price."
- Wrong Decision or Timeline focus. The AI asks about budget. Try: Add: "Decision: who else is involved; Timeline: what date matters."
- Wrong shape. The AI writes a long script. Try: Add: "Exactly 5 lines Label: question."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and runs long when you only give a total. Try: Cap each part, like "each line under 15 words," so the total lands well under the limit.
What a strong prompt includes
- Lists the five labels
- Sets question openers
- Targets Decision and Timeline
- Bans product and price
- Limits length
