About this exercise

Explain the quote to the customer in a markdown table with columns Item | Cost | What it is (under 10 words), one row per required line item, then a last line starting "Total:" showing the sum, like "Total: 100 + 200 = $300". Leave the optional item out of the table and the total, and mention it only in one final sentence starting "Optional:". Plain text otherwise, no bold, under 110 words.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Including the optional plan. The AI adds $720 to the total. Try: Add: "Leave the optional item out of the table and total."
  • Using the old booking price. The AI uses $350 from the earlier version. Try: Add: "Use the current quote only."
  • Jargon descriptions. The AI uses technical terms. Try: Add: "Each description in plain words, under 10 words."
  • Bold and extras. The AI bolds the total and adds a pitch. Try: Add: "No bold, under 110 words."

What a strong prompt includes

  • Names the columns
  • Asks for the sum
  • Excludes the optional item
  • Uses the current quote
  • Plain text
