Write five check-in questions for a quiet customer
- For Customer success managers
- You practice Getting the tone right
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Rosa Delgado's team at Bayside Pediatrics has nearly stopped logging in. Write exactly 5 numbered open questions for your check-in call, each under 16 words. Question 1 must ask about their goal of reducing no-shows. No question may begin with "Why", suggest blame, or mention renewal, pricing or discounts.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Opening with Why. The AI writes 'Why have logins dropped?', which sounds accusing. Try: Add: "No question may begin with Why or suggest blame."
- Raising renewal. The AI asks about the renewal or what would keep them. Try: Add: "Do not mention renewal, pricing or discounts."
- Skipping the goal. The AI asks generic satisfaction questions. Try: Add: "Question 1 asks about their goal of reducing no-shows."
- Wrong count or length. The AI writes eight questions with long lead-ins. Try: Add: "Exactly 5 numbered questions, each under 16 words."
What a strong prompt includes
- Fixes the count
- Starts with the goal
- Bans Why and blame
- Bans renewal talk
- Open questions
