Invite a lost prospect to a short feedback call
- For Sales and customer success
- You practice Getting the tone right
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Write an email from Dana to Lars Petersen, whose company chose another vendor. Plain text, under 110 words. Ask for a 15-minute call, offer exactly the two times given, say it is not a sales call, say what happens with the feedback, and make it easy to decline. No gifts or incentives, no re-pitch.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Re-pitching. The AI sneaks in a product reminder or return offer. Try: Add: "Not a sales call: no re-pitch, pricing or discount."
- Offering an incentive. The AI adds a gift card. Try: Add: "No gifts or incentives."
- Open-ended scheduling. The AI says 'let me know what works'. Try: Add: "Offer exactly Tue Nov 17 at 11:00 a.m. ET or Thu Nov 19 at 3:00 p.m. ET."
- Missing the opt-out and use of notes. The AI doesn't say what happens with the feedback. Try: Add: "Say the notes are shared without his name and that he can decline."
- Long, formatted email. The AI writes a long email with bold text. Try: Add: "Plain text, under 110 words."
