Pick real review quotes you have permission to use

Practice: Catching mistakes and made-up facts. About 5 minutes.

About this exercise

You run Sudsy Paws Grooming and want 3 customer quotes for your new landing page. Use only reviews where the customer said yes to being quoted, copy each quote word for word from one sentence of the review (no rewording, no stitching sentences together), and skip anything about the mobile van, which you no longer run. Reply with exactly 3 numbered lines formatted like 1. "quote" - first name, in plain text and nothing else. Write a prompt that gets you those quotes.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Letting it pick the "best" quotes. The AI goes for the most glowing reviews, and the two most glowing ones have no permission. Try: Add: "Only use reviews marked permission: YES. Skip Derek and Omar."
  • Letting it polish the quotes. AI tidies wording or merges two sentences into a punchier line, and then it's no longer what the customer said. Try: Add: "Copy one sentence word for word. Don't reword or combine sentences."
  • Quoting a service you dropped. Marisol's review is approved and sounds great, but it praises the van that ended in August. Try: Add: "Skip any sentence about the mobile van or the driveway."
  • Not giving the line format. AI writes a heading, bold names, star ratings or full last names, and adds a note on why it chose each one. Try: Add: "Exactly 3 lines like: 1. \"quote\" - Hannah. First names only, plain text, nothing else."

What a strong prompt includes

  • Uses only approved reviews
  • Keeps quotes word for word
  • Skips the dropped service
  • Says how many and in what format
  • Asks for only the list
