Put the stages of mitosis in order with what happens

Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.

About this exercise

Your Biology quiz asks you to order the stages of mitosis and say what the chromosomes do in each. Get exactly 4 numbered lines in order, each in the form 'Stage: what the chromosomes do', each under 12 words, plain text. Use only your notes, including Ms. Patel's correction about metaphase and anaphase.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Asking for an explanation. The AI explains mitosis in paragraphs, with interphase and cytokinesis added. Try: Show the shape: "Stage: what the chromosomes do".
  • Not saying how many lines. The AI picks its own number, and it usually picks more lines than you need. Try: Be exact: "Exactly 4 numbered lines."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total and it often lands 20% over. Try: Cap each line: "each under 10 words."
  • Missing the correction. Your swapped notes are still in the material. Try: Add: "Use Ms. Patel's correction: metaphase = middle, anaphase = apart."
  • Adding extra stages. The AI often includes interphase and cytokinesis. Try: Add: "Only the 4 stages, no interphase or cytokinesis."

What a strong prompt includes

  • Says how many stages
  • Shows the line shape
  • Uses the correction
  • Sets a length limit
  • Says to use only the material
