Summarize a practice test into a short mistake log
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
After your PSAT practice test, you want a mistake log to guide studying. Get exactly 3 numbered lines, one per topic you missed, each in the form 'Topic: questions missed | why', ordered from most to fewest missed, plain text, under 70 words. Use the tutor's re-graded results, not your first count.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Asking for a summary. The AI writes a paragraph about how the test went, not a log you can study from. Try: Show the shape: "Topic: questions missed | why".
- Not saying how many lines. The AI picks its own number, and it usually picks more lines than you need. Try: Be exact: "Exactly 3 numbered lines."
- Using the first count. Your first count and the tutor's re-grade are both in the material. Try: Add: "Use Ms. Adeyemi's re-graded results."
- Not saying the order. The AI may follow the order of your notes instead of what needs the most work. Try: Add: "Order from most to fewest missed."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total and it often lands 20% over. Try: Cap each line: "each under 18 words."
- Forgetting where it will be read. AI formats for a screen, with bold and headings that show up as stray symbols in your notes. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
