Pull the graded deadlines out of a revised syllabus
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
Your Anthropology syllabus was revised and you want the graded deadlines in your planner. Get exactly 5 numbered lines sorted by date, each in the form 'Date - assignment - % of grade', plain text, nothing else. Use the revised dates and weights from Prof. Amari's update, and leave out ungraded items.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Not saying how many lines. The AI picks its own number, and it usually picks more lines than you need. Try: Be exact: "Exactly 5 numbered lines."
- Not asking for date order. The AI may group items by type or follow the syllabus order. Try: Add: "Sort by date, earliest first."
- Using the old syllabus. Both the original and the revision are in your material. Try: Add: "Use the revised dates and weights from the email."
- Including ungraded items. The AI lists everything with a date, including the optional museum visit. Try: Add: "Graded work only. Show the line: 'Oct 3 - journal - 15%'."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total and it often lands 20% over. Try: Fix the shape: "date, assignment, percent, nothing else."
