Write exam-style questions at three levels with grading notes
- For College students
- You practice Showing an example of what you want
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Advanced
About this exercise
Make practice for a Government exam from your lecture notes. Get exactly 3 questions labeled Remember:, Apply: and Analyze:, each followed by a line starting 'Full credit:' with what a full answer must include (under 20 words). The Apply question needs a scenario with numbers. Plain text, under 160 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Questions at one level. The AI writes three recall questions. Try: Say: "Remember, Apply (with numbers), Analyze."
- No grading notes. Without a Full credit line you can't check your own answer. Try: Say: "Each followed by Full credit: what a full answer includes."
- Using outside facts. The AI adds details your professor didn't cover. Try: Add: "Only use my lecture notes. DC gets 3 electors."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total and it often lands 20% over. Try: Cap each part: "each line under 12 words."
- Forgetting where it's going. AI formats for a screen, with bold and headings that show up as stray symbols. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
What a strong prompt includes
- Names the three levels
- Asks for Full credit lines
- Asks for a scenario with numbers
- Stays in the notes
- Limits the length
