Make five front-and-back cards for map vocabulary
- For High school students
- You practice Asking for a format you can use
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Get exactly 5 flashcards, each written as two lines: 'Front:' with the term and 'Back:' with the meaning in under 10 words. Leave a blank line between cards, use only your notes' terms, plain text, and use Ms. Ruiz's correction about latitude.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the wrong note. Your note says latitude lines run up and down. Try: Add: "Latitude lines run east-west, per Ms. Ruiz."
- Adding extra terms. The AI includes time zones or projections you won't be tested on. Try: Add: "Only terms from my notes. No time zones."
- No card shape. Without Front and Back lines you get a glossary. Try: Say: "Each card is a Front: line and a Back: line, blank line between."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total and it often lands 20% over. Try: Cap each part: "each line under 12 words."
- Forgetting where it's going. AI formats for a screen, with bold and headings that show up as stray symbols. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
What a strong prompt includes
- Says how many cards
- Gives the card shape
- Limits the back
- Uses the correction
- Stays in the notes
