Plan a 45-minute study group session minute by minute
- For College students
- You practice Asking for a format you can use
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Plan tonight's group session from 7:00 to 7:45 pm. Get exactly 5 lines in the form 'start-end: activity' with no gaps or overlaps: terms review first, problems second, a 5-minute break, quiz each other fourth, plan the next meeting last. Use your lengths. Plain text, under 70 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Putting problems first. Mia's preference is in the notes, but the group decided terms first. Try: Add: "Terms first, then problems, break, quiz, plan."
- Time gaps. The AI rounds times and leaves gaps or runs past 7:45. Try: Say: "No gaps, 7:00 to 7:45 exactly."
- No line shape. Without the time format you get a bulleted outline. Try: Say: "Exactly 5 lines like 7:00-7:10: Review terms."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total and it often lands 20% over. Try: Cap each part: "each line under 12 words."
- Forgetting where it's going. AI formats for a screen, with bold and headings that show up as stray symbols. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
What a strong prompt includes
