About this exercise

Get a rhyme to memorize the water cycle for Friday's quiz: exactly 4 lines in the rhyme pattern AABB, one stage per line in your notes' order, each line naming the stage with your teacher's word and under 12 words. Plain text, no title.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Letting in extra stages. The AI adds transpiration and runoff, which aren't on Friday's quiz. Try: Add: "Only the 4 stages, in order."
  • Using your wrong word. Your note says accumulation, the quiz says collection. Try: Add: "Stage 4 is called Collection."
  • Free-form poem. Without a count and a rhyme pattern you get a long poem with a title. Try: Say: "Exactly 4 lines, AABB, no title."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total and it often lands 20% over. Try: Cap each part: "each line under 12 words."
  • Forgetting where it's going. AI formats for a screen, with bold and headings that show up as stray symbols. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."

What a strong prompt includes

  • Says how many lines
  • Asks for the rhyme pattern
  • Names the stages in order
  • Uses the teacher's word
  • Limits each line
