About this exercise

You're job hunting and want a LinkedIn banner made in Midjourney. Get Claude to write one paste-ready Midjourney prompt: a single plain-text paragraph under 90 words that ends with --ar 4:1 and a --no list that includes text and logos. It must keep the lower-left corner plain because your profile photo covers it, and use your new colors, teal #1F7A8C and sand #E9D8A6, not the old ones.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Not naming the tool. Without hearing "Midjourney", the AI never adds --ar 4:1, so the banner comes out the wrong shape. Try: Add: "End with --ar 4:1 --no text, logos."
  • Forgetting the profile photo. The AI puts the focal point in the lower left, where your photo hides it. Try: Add: "Keep the lower-left corner plain; my profile photo covers it."
  • Mixing old and new colors. The notes list both palettes, and the AI may pick purple or blend them. Try: Add: "Use only teal #1F7A8C and sand #E9D8A6."
  • Getting tips instead of a prompt. The AI writes a mini guide with headings and bold. Try: Add: "Output only the prompt, one plain-text paragraph."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. Banner prompts sprawl with every idea from the notes. Try: Add: "about 45 words before the parameters."

What a strong prompt includes

  • Names the tool
  • Sets the banner shape
  • Protects the photo area
  • Gives the new colors
  • Rules out text and logos
