- For Executives
- You practice Saying who it's for
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Summarize the meeting for Nadia, who missed it. Exactly three bullets starting with "-", each 12 words or fewer, then one last line starting "Decision needed:" with the date. Plain text, under 60 words. Leave out small talk and anything not decided.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Including small talk and undecided topics. The AI summarizes everything discussed. Try: Say: "Only what was decided. Leave out small talk and open topics."
- Burying the decision. The AI mentions the support line in a bullet instead of the last line. Try: Say: "Last line: Decision needed: ... with the date."
- Dropping dates. The AI writes 'go-live moved'. Try: Say: "Include the dates: Dec 1, Jan 12, Nov 17 and Nov 19."
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Leaving the bullet count open. The AI keeps adding bullets until every detail is covered. Try: Name the cap: "at most N bullets, nothing else".
What a strong prompt includes

- Caps the bullets
- Sets bullets and last line
