Draft a short CEO-to-CEO intro with one number and one ask
- For Executives
- You practice Getting the tone right
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Write a message from our CEO, Marta, to their CEO, Mr. Oyelaran. First line exactly "Dear Mr. Oyelaran," and last line exactly "Marta Ellison". Exactly 3 sentences, under 60 words. Include one number from the notes and one ask. Do not flatter and do not mention pricing.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the AE draft. The draft flatters and mentions renewal pricing. Try: Say: "No flattery; no pricing or renewal."
- Missing the number or ask. The AI says 'we value the partnership' with no facts. Try: Say: "One number (6 hours a week) and one ask (20 minutes, week of Dec 7)."
- Wrong lines or length. The AI writes five sentences and signs 'Best'. Try: Give the exact lines; exactly 3 sentences.
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
What a strong prompt includes
- Asks for plain text
- Caps the sentences
- Sets a length limit
- States the ask
- Bans flattery
