About this exercise
Compare the options for the CFO. Write a first line exactly "Sutton Rail pricing", then exactly four lines starting "1-year x 3:", "3-year annual:", "3-year prepaid:" and "Saving:". Show the math on each, like "$60,000 x 3 = $180,000". Apply the discounts in the order described. Plain text, under 80 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Applying 3% to the list price. The sales note says the prepay discount uses list price. Try: Say: "Apply the 3% to the discounted 3-year total."
- Missing a saving figure. The AI states only one saving. Try: Say: "Saving: both versus 1-year x 3."
- No working shown. The AI states totals without arithmetic. Try: Say: "Show the math on each line."
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes
