Write an honest risk slide in three lines without blame
- For Executives
- You practice Getting the tone right
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Write the text for an EBR risk slide with exactly three lines starting "What happened:", "What we did:" and "What's next:". Include dates and one number. Do not blame the vendor or the customer. Plain text, under 75 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Blaming the vendor. The internal note says the vendor made a mistake. Try: Add: "Do not blame the vendor or the customer."
- Missing numbers and dates. The AI writes 'an outage occurred in the summer'. Try: Say: "Include the dates and the 3 hours 20 minutes."
- Wrong layout. The AI writes slide bullets with headings. Try: Name the three labels.
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes
