Sort a week of tickets into three lines for a CSM
- For Customer success managers
- You practice Saying who it's for
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Write the weekly ticket digest for the CSM with exactly three lines starting "Open:", "Waiting on customer:" and "Closed this week:". List ticket ids in order, separated by commas. Closed this week means closed on Nov 2 to Nov 6. Plain text, nothing else.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Including last week's ticket. The CSM comment asks for T-108. Try: Say: "Closed Nov 2 to Nov 6 only; leave out T-108."
- Mixing up statuses. The AI puts waiting-on-customer tickets under open. Try: Say: "Three separate groups by status."
- Extra text. The AI adds summaries of each ticket. Try: Say: "Three lines of ids only."
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes
- Asks for plain text
- Sets a length limit
- Names the labels
- Limits the closed range
