About this exercise
Output a table with the header "Article | Review?" and six rows A1 to A6, Review? being Yes or No, then a last line "Review: A#, A#". An article needs review if it covers navigation steps and was last updated before Oct 1, or covers pricing and was last updated before Sep 15. Plain text, under 70 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Flagging old but irrelevant articles. The AI flags A5 because it is old. Try: Say: "Only the two stated conditions."
- Checking the wrong date for A4. The AI checks only one topic. Try: Say: "Check each topic an article covers against its own change date."
- Missing the summary line. The AI stops at the table. Try: Give the last-line format.
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes
- Gives the header
- States both conditions
- Asks for the summary line
- Asks for plain text
- Sets a length limit
