About this exercise
Output a table with the header "Hour | Needed | Available | Gap" and four rows, then a last line "Biggest gap: HH:00 (N)". Needed is the forecast tickets divided by what one agent handles per hour, rounded up to a whole agent. Gap is Available minus Needed. Use the lunch adjustment. Plain text, under 70 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Rounding down. The AI shows 4.5 as 4 or leaves decimals. Try: Say: "Round up to a whole agent."
- Ignoring lunch. The AI uses 6 available at 12:00. Try: Say: "Remove the lunch agent at 12:00."
- Wrong sign on gap. The AI shows gap as Needed minus Available. Try: Say: "Gap is Available minus Needed."
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes
- Gives the table header
- Says to round up
- Mentions lunch
- Defines the gap
- Asks for plain text
