Summarize a week of escalations for a VP in three sentences
- For Executives
- You practice Saying who it's for
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Write a summary for Priya, the VP of Operations, who reads it on her phone between meetings. Exactly 3 sentences. The first sentence must name the two decisions she needs to make, the second gives the headline number with the comparison to last week, and the third says the one risk to watch. Use the corrected count. Plain text, no bullets.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the uncorrected count. The AI picks 12 because it appears first. Try: Say: "Use the corrected total of 11."
- Leading with the number. The AI opens with the weekly total instead of the decisions. Try: Say: "The first sentence names the two decisions."
- Listing everything. The AI adds breakdowns, sick days and handling time. Try: Say: "Exactly 3 sentences, headline number and one risk only."
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
What a strong prompt includes
