About this exercise
New analysts keep mixing up bookings, billings, ARR and revenue. Write a Q&A with exactly 4 questions and answers about those four terms, each as 'Q:' then 'A:' on the next line, plain text, under 140 words. Each answer is one sentence that uses the example deal's dollar figure, and only the policy's definitions.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Generic definitions. The AI gives textbook definitions with no dollar figures. Try: Add: "Use the deal's figure in each answer: $360,000, $120,000, $120,000, $10,000."
- Mixing up ARR and bookings. The AI calls the full $360,000 the ARR. Try: Add: "ARR is the yearly value, $120,000."
- Revenue as the invoice. The AI books $120,000 as November revenue. Try: Add: "Revenue is recognized evenly: $120,000 / 12 = $10,000 for November."
- Leaving the format to chance. The AI picks its own length and layout unless told the exact shape. Try: Add: "Plain text, no bold or headings."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example "each line under 15 words."
