About this exercise
Using today's date, Nov 9, 2026, return a table with the header Employee | Course | Due | Days overdue listing only people whose course is overdue and not completed. Days overdue = Nov 9 minus the due date, as a number. Sort by days overdue, largest first. Plain text, no bold. After the table, one line: Overdue total: N. Do not include anyone who completed the course or has an approved extension. HR reviews before reminders go out.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Including completed or extended. The AI keeps Lena or Diego. Try: Say: "Exclude completed courses and approved extensions."
- Wrong day counts. The AI miscounts across October and November. Try: Say: "Days overdue = Nov 9 minus due date; Oct has 31 days. Show the number only."
- Missing total line. The AI summarizes in a sentence. Try: Say: "End with the line Overdue total: N."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
- Markdown. The AI bolds words or adds headings. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
