- For Small business owners
- You practice Setting limits and rules
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
The Alder & Ash ceramic mug is back in stock. Write a prompt for an email to people on the waitlist: a line starting "Subject:" of 6 words or fewer, a body of exactly 2 sentences, and a line starting "Link:" with the product link. State the real stock count once as a fact, and don't use selling-fast, hurry, almost gone, last chance or don't-miss-out wording. Plain text, signed "Noor".
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Adding scarcity. Restock emails default to 'selling fast'. Try: Name the banned phrases.
- Skipping the real count. The AI says 'limited stock' without a number. Try: Say: "State the real stock count once."
- Wrong structure. The AI writes several paragraphs. Try: Say: "Exactly 2 sentences, then a Link: line."
- Letting markdown through. AI adds bold text and headings by default. Try: Add: "Plain text only, no bold, no headings."
What a strong prompt includes
- Gives the structure
- States the stock count
- Bans scarcity words
- Gives sign-off
- Caps length
